Canon's creatively-crammed 10 megapixel A640 digital camera features a rotating, vari-angle 2.5 inch LCD screen, a wide-angle 4x optical zoom lens incorporating Canon's UA lens technology, and the same DIGIC II processor found in Canon's professional series digital SLRs
- The 10 megapixels allow for creative cropping while providing enough detail for large, high quality prints, while a new Safety Zoom takes advantage of maximum megapixels to offer extra zoom magnification without affecting image quality (up to 16x combined zoom)
- A digital tele-converter also adds extra telephoto reach on all shots
- The 4x optical zoom lenses achieve a 35-140mm focal length (35mm equivalent) while the A640's high ISO Auto setting (up to ISO 800) prioritizes fast shutter speeds by automatically using the higher range of ISO sensitivities, reducing the risk of unwanted image blur
- The A640 also incorporates iSAPS technology which optimises key camera settings before each shot, 9-point AiAF for accurate off-centre subjects and a real-image optical viewfinder for precise framing
- Flexi-zone AF/AE allows you to manually select the focus point from almost any point in the frame by moving the auto focus window in the viewfinder
- My Colours' exhibits an array of special effects which can be performed in-camera, while you can view XGA resolution movies up to 1GB in size, VGA, QVGA and short clip capture at 160 x 120 for easy emailing
- When connected to the latest range of PictBridge compatible PIXMA printers, you can also take advantage of image enhancement features such as Captured Info print, which prints shooting data within the photo border
- It also includes a 32MB memory card, wrist strap, batteries, AV/interface cables and a manual.
